During 2019, a demand for a representative hoody for an archery club came to my attention. Therefore I took up the challenge to provide these.
I designed logos and had these printed on a variety of coloured hoodies – these were then sold to club members.
For the logo design, I was inspired by Robin Hood (as the club is based in Nottingham) and the Mockingjay motif from the series ‘The Hunger Games’. The design underwent development and changes as I played around with some recognisable imagery such as robins, bows and arrows. I was keen to make use of negative space to allow the hoodie colours to play a large role.
After receiving feedback from the club, I then communicated with the printing company. After trial and error, the design evolved to become more suitable for print.
The final result was a set of effective hoodies that were popular amongst members of the archery club.
